Is Sania going the Bhupati way?...

All I hear is that she has cleared round 1...while playing doubles...whats happening to her singles games? She is bombing horribly...but I wonder if we expect too much out of her. I mean she IS young, sure she has started a lot later than some of her contemporaries but still she might have a great future ahead of her if we let her have it...I just hope that she concentrates on her Singles career more...

i think your so much better off and you think im so much better off...

Result of a conversation I was having...
Basically I am tormented in the sitauation/circumstances/life that I am in...and you are tormented in the ones you are...
Thats where my philosopy of misery comes from...since I am going to be miserable...and I know I am...because everyone is miserable in the lives they lead...I'd rather be miserable on my own terms right...

It works because people can relate...

Caught a little of 'Deal ya No deal' last evening, where this girl took nothing home, she was crying her guts out and so were all the other participants on the show. Everyone was very upset that she didnt win anything. And I realised that this was the secret of success of the show...make people related to the people on the show. Who doesnt need money and who wouldnt like to win money on an easy game show - where you neither have to be smart, nor daring, nor good looking or talented or any of that. Anyone can play the game and I think thats the beauty of it. Even though its actually a useless no brainer show, people still enjoy it for that very reason.
Anyway back to the girl...the show always starts (I think) with Mandira asking the contestant, what he / she would do with the money or why he/she needed the money. Most people come out saying they desperately need the money for something very important (always related to family) and thats where the whole 'relating' business comes in. People who are watching want this guy/girl to win, and win big or win small depending on the need. They sit back and watch but wish they could telling him/her what to do. They get agitated when the contestant doesnt take a good bank offer and get upset when a 'badi rakam' goes out...
So Simple .....

Anyone got 'White Noise', the hindi one...

Been dying to see that movie. Loved the trailers. Looked intruiging. And would like to see another movie of Koel Puri. I think she did a fantastic job in 'Everyone says I'm Fine' but she was horrible in 'Mixed Doubles'. I couldnt catch the film when it released cause I was leaving in a few days to go out of town. When I got back, the movie had already gone. My library doesnt have the movie and everytime I try to find it online, I get the english version. I like movies Rahul Bose stars in. Dont like him much. Hes an okay actor, looks funny, but mostly I think hes fake. Just talks very big (Hope Amisha never reads this entry, otherwise I'll be dead in no time)...

It surrounds me, it engulfs me, it weights me down...I cant run, I can fight, I can only suffocate....

Life can really suck...I guess it would be much easier if we didnt have feeling....detachment is cool...and useful...

Google doesnt care. They may say anything but they too are after the money...

They might keep saying 'Don't be evil' and might truely believe it is their motto, but money always comes first...the hard cold truth
And anyway 'Dont be evil' cannot be equated to 'Be virtuous'. So technically they dont need to care if they give into the Chinese govts demands.
China is a hugeeee market and getting your foot in(by hook or by crook) is very important. Expecting Google to take the high ground and say 'we wont enter on your terms, because your terms are not fair' is highly idealistic and idiotic in my opinion.
Similarly google doesnt care about tibet or taiwan or anywhere/anything/anyone else. Is it their job to? No. But we still expect it from them, and I guess it is because of the image they have. And I think this is why when they dont do things as people expect, they get termed as 'the next evil empire'..or whatever. Sure its not fair...but they are not fair...the world is not fair...

Too many things

A.k.a too much work...thought it would be a slow day, I would relax a little...but things just started piling up, and worse off I had to end up doing non important stuff, just because it was more urgent (time bound)...ridiculous. Anyway I definately dont like people who think no end of themselves and then go about throwing that around like no bodys business....hey man for all you know everyone is calling you a dumbass...get a functioning brain...get the right attitude...get a life...

Happy Commercialization Day

Same nick, different year...
Well this is my nick every year on Feb 14th...what the hell is 'Valentines Day'...what non sense...nothing but a Marketing gimmick....and guess what...people fall for it every year...Is it a good gimick then? Nope...I'll tell you why...its not that we love being romantics...and love to express how we feel and just dont find the time and therefore this is the perfect opportunity etc etc etc...all crap...its just that we are scared and such days remind us of the fragility of everything in this world...and especially our relationships...its not about love..its all about fear...anyway horrible net connection...cant explain everything right now...will try later...

So easy to fall into temptation...

Watched Shikhar (can read more about it in my movie blog) and it, even though I know it...but still it was a good reminder about how easy it is to be tempted and how easy it is to give into that temptation....
Life sucks doesnt it...

It's going to be a long long long day...

And a long long long day it was. Well actually both Friday and Saturday were long days.
Also lesson learnt....you have to work real hard to get real insight...but for insight you have to have the right sight in the first place. Everyone can look at the same thing and see that object differenly. Different people infer diffent information from the same presented information. I wish I had more of the right sight.

Taxi - both ways...

Yup, I caught a cab to the station and from the station to get back home. Why this is worth a nick...well because I use to be (I like to this that its over) a real cabaholic. The final year of college, I rarely attended, but when I did, I must have travelled (while going to college) at least 60% of the time by cab. Firstly because I was always late, secondly cause the bus to the college area would come every 20-30 minutes. And the fare wouldnt be a small amount but some how I very rarely felt guilty about spending that much on taxis. Maybe much later I would regret it, thinking of how much I might have saved or of how I was short of money because I had spend someone on something so avoidable. I wonder if its the same with shopaholics.
Anyway while returning it was always the bus, unless I was very tired or had to get some place fast. Didnt have to hurry + had the option of changing buses, which I didnt mind doing once the hour was earthly, for me that would be after noon.
Thankfully I catch the bus all of the time now. I guess its cause even though I'm late, I'm never 'late'(don't get fired at work for getting in late). But still working on trying to get to work earlier, point is, thankfully a cab will help by only 10 mins. What I need is to wake up 30 minutes before the time I usually wake up...
Will work harder to get to work on time....I hope...

Its a cartoon for crying out loud...its meant to be funny...not cause insanity...

Well I don't get it. Humans suck. And humans with stupid views suck more. Maybe they should be shot dead or something.
I mean come on, starting riots just because someone drew something, or someone said something, or someone did something, (thats small and meaningless - to have any major effect on anything), is RIDICULOUS. I guess terrorists just want to terrorize as many people as possible. I don't like labelling and I don't like generalizing either, but if not all muslims then at least fanatical muslims should calm down a little. Majority of terrorism around the world is a result of Islamic terrorists. Whatever their excuses, even vandalism and damage to property (leave aside killing people) will never be justified. Do you see everyone else getting up and going beserk, if someone makes a cartoon or a caricature or a joke...
Its always so strange, to be surrounded by muslims who want nothing but peace, not only for themselves but for everyone around them too, and then hear that so many muslims outside of India, want nothing but the opposite. Sure we get a lot of terrorist attacks in Kashmir, but I think, if not all, then at least some of us, view these terrorists as Pakistani's and not muslims.
World peace is only a nice ideal...its never going to exist in reality...

Stupid resolution...stupid idea...

Well the resolution was that I wont change my msn nick till I havent updated my blog. So what happens is because I am not very regular with this blog, I am not changing my nicks that often. 2 solutions - either forget about filing the blog with every new nick I have or being more regular with my blog.
Two would also seem like the better option but truth is, its not...do I really have to give updates all the time? I doubt it. Its not like anyone or for that matter I am interested. I think its more on the lines of just keeping in mind what happened and what lessons I should take from it all.
Anyway time will tell if it ends up being 1 or 2.

Why is she travelling in a bus...

Well to remind me of not to stereo type people/things.
There was this lady in the bus, with a kid. She didnt look like the type who would travel by a bus or a train, not even a cab because she most probably would have a car. Why I say this...well she wore very good clothes and shoes. Had a very new style Nokia phone..I dont know the model. Had colour and streaked hair(and thats not cheap) and wore sunglasses(talks about being hi fi dont you think?). Anyway she didnt look anything below upper upper middle class...and still there she was travelling by bus. And I kept thinking 'why is this woman in a bus'...'why not in a taxi if there was no driver today', etc etc. But then there could be so manyyyy reasons why she was in a bus. Maybe her kid likes the bus. Maybe shes frugal when it comes to pennies. Maybe she has taxi phobia(whatever its called - I'm sure it exists). Maybe she wanted a change....

But I still cant understand why she was travelling by bus.

You only really get 2 know people when u have fought with them. Then & only then can u judge their true character...

Read this in 'The Dairy of Anne Frank'. Well its not verbatim, but that was the jist of it. And its so true. The book is pretty good. I have difficulty believing that a 13-14 year old kid wrote it. She was very mature for her age. And even though I'm not beyond 50 pages, I have already realised that there are lots of lessons/ realizations to be picked from here.
Well we are always so goody goody to people who are not in our direct inner circle. Only the people we know very well, we fight with. I guess its cause, when we fight, we bring our ugly side out. And we don't want everyone to know that side of ours. But like Anne says, thats who we truly are right.
Also the way people fight. Some people are never satisfied till they have won or atleast believe till they have won, while others just back off and either accept what the other says or silently believe otherwise. There are others who will fight with logic while others still will try to prove their point even though they make no sense to anyone other than themselves. There are some who will get very emotional and some who will stay totally sensible. I think this reflect upon ones personality too...Don't you...

Marketing is discovering the Wow Factor. Search Marketing is utilizing the Wow Factor in the search world...

Something I read somewhere.
I think its so true. If you dont have a wow factor, you can last too long. Whether it be marketing or anything else. People might give something a chance and might even become loyal, but for number games, a wow factor is a must.
And its not just in marketing but in general, but the importance of a wow factor comes out the most and seems the most relevant in marketing or rather selling...
