Why is it that only the medical students are taking part?

Talking about the protest against reservation for backward classes in higher education and our premier institutions. Do we really want 50% reservations in our top colleges or for that even in higher institutions? Is it worth giving seats to people from backward classes (I believe it should be based on economics and not caste in the first place) and bring down the level of not only graduating students (and therefore the institution) but also have people who might not be competent enough and thus bring down the over all functioning of small economies all over, over a long period of time?
What I believe is that having these seats in our colleges doesnt makes sense. If there should be reservation, it should be at our school levels (accommodation is a big problem - we might end up having lots of children who cant afford schooling because there are no seat.
What should also be done is to give blackward classes more vocation training so that they can stand on their own feet. Give them better loan schemes. Financial aid to help them start their own small business.

Im so sick and tired of vote bank politics.
