What will happen to this city?...there is a breaking point for everything...

Again I'm going to copy paste from a convo. I was having on the topic...it covers my thoughts on the issue...
naah nothing much..i really think this city has taken more than it could...its either going to explode or implode soon...not that thats not happening...its not happening on a big scale
i mean i was crossing to bandra...and there is this green patch right before the river....and to think that bbay was once huge masses of swamp land...its all gone...and gone with it is the world that use to be there..
and then we crossed the river...and it was dirty and stinky...unfortunately thats how everything has become in this city...and it should not be that way..
i mean they are now talking abt power cuts...in bbay...i would never have thoguht the day would come
Friend: but its only fair tht we pay the dues for ebing part of MH.....suffer cuts like every other city does
Me:well im not of the opinion tht bbay should be giving special privlages etc..but can we really afford it? i mean i understand there is a need to curb wastage etc...but come on...if your financial capital is going to be plagues with probs like power cuts..when and how are you going to progress? there has to be better solutions...
Well I love my city...I think its a great place, with great people (except the politicians and gangsters) with a great spirit. But I think our chalta hai attitude is what will pull us down one day. Everything cant be 'chalta hai' all the time. We need to stand up and say we have had enough. We need to do something for our city, for ourselves. Its not about how much taxes we pay to the centre and blah and blah and blah, but that everyone deserves to be better off in a city like Mumbai. A city with so much history, culture and finance. A city that is full of hard working people. A city where everyone wants to come to fulfil his dream. A city where we believe life is different, because there is nothing superfial about it, because there is nothing fake about its people and the amount they toil. If it means throwing out people, I dont mind. Let there be a threshold for those who can and cannot live in Mumbai. Let the govt. take a stand and say to hell with vote banks, I dont want more slums, more crime, more garbage in this city....tragedy is that no one has the balls...and therefore Mumbai will only perish...there is no other direction it can move other than downwards....makes me really sad...
