The mistake a lot of people make often is that they assume other people don't have a basic level of intelligence.
Don't be a fool. Assume people around you HAVE basic intelligence.

I know! So many times I've seen people - including myself - in a foot-in-mouth position, just bcoz they assumed tht the other is less aware than themselves!
ReplyDeleteThat's not a very pessimistic attitude. However, I always assume people who are from another country or culture have basic intelligence.

ReplyDelete@ I431AD - Assuming you are picking 'pessimistic' from the personal description sections. Well not everything I write is pessimistic thankfully but I'm just more 'pessimistic' than optimistic.
Well the post wasn't necessarily even about people we don't know. We often do things to/for people we know assuming that they are stupider than ourselves (if not worse). And that really is a mistake because if they aren't then well we just made a big mistake.
